Ellie, these are great for your first try. A couple of suggestions, (& note it's hard to see details so maybe you've done this) but it appears the large spaces are totally cut out. Try leaving more raised lines in the large cut spaces. Also add alittle interest in the background with texture, shapes etc. Also try cutting background and leaving subject raised with just alittle cut out. Hope this makes sense.
